We just returned home from our big recording trip to North Carolina. What a wonderful time! Although we didn't get to see much of Asheville because we worked and worked in the studio. Chris Rosser is an amazing man! Not only as a musician, but a producer and family man as well. Chris is a man of patience with a huge heart and I know we have the perfect guy to produce our CD!!!!

I've set the deadline for release on Feb 15th.. Our anniversary. It's going to be our best CD yet. Here is the track list ( some repeated ) and not in this order.

We just played our debut performance at Cousin Andy's w/ Lauire McClain. What a treat!!! It's like little Kerrville. Everyone was wearing their Kerrville shirts and saying "Welcome Home". Oh, but that's not all of it. Back at Vern's house, we stayed up till 2:30 Am talking and singing and sharing and I just didn't want to leave. Laurie and I, as tired as she was, talked and talked and neither one of us wanted to say goodnight nor goodbye. But we'll get to see eachother again in Feb!!!! I cannot wait!

We have great news.. We go into the studio at the end of Oct to record with the Wizard, Chris Rosser, NC. We will record Old and New favorite Songs together for radio airplay. Tom Prasada Rao( the Dreamsicles and the Sherpas ) has agreed to help bring this to fruition with his talents as well. We will have the CD in our hands ( if all goes well ) by Folk Alliance in February. Pre-ordering will be available soon......

We would like to personally thank our great friend Jeff State ,who has believed in us so much, for gathering financial backers to provide most of the finances needed to finish this project. Your unbelievable!!!

We are still mixing down our Live CD as of OCT 3rd, to meet our likings, and choosing songs that will make it to the final cut..... Those of you who have signed up for their free copy, If we decide not to duplicate it, you will recieve a copy of the New recorded CD, in exchange. Thanks for making that night one of the funnest nights in our lives and for forgiving our mistakes and blunders during the reording process... That's what makes it " REAL "!

Jan,

We opened for Christopher Williams at The Lighthouse Coffeehouse in DesMoines and we had such a wonderful time. The desserts alone we were worth the 4 hour drive in the ice. Scott Stillwell, the MAIN MAN, treated us like family the moment we walked in the door. Needless to say, we fell in love immediately and we cannot wait to go back!

Dec,

We had the great chance to play some dates with the ever talented Beth Wood in our newly formed trio, " In The Woods". We had the best time playing KUNI radio's Live From Studio One, and Cafe Carpe.

We have some great performances coming up this spring and summer which includes March 31st at River Concert Series, in Hannable MO. April we tour Colorado at Rock n Soul Cafe and Acoustic Avenue. May, at CSPS w/ Black Sheep in their reunion party. July we head north to Two Harbors Folk Festival.

We had a great time at Village Square concert. I cannot believe how so many nice people can fit into one room. I am serious, there wasn't an ugly person in the bunch! We opened for Michael Smith and after we were done, he said.. "WOW, You guys are wonderful." and I said.. can I get that in writing... ( jokingly) and wouldn't you know it.... He did!!! It's on our quotes page! Shoot, it's on the front page too! LOL Everyone who goes to a Michael Smith Concert has to tell him... HI! from us. Thanks for the encouraging words and for the great hugs Michael.. you are a gem!

Hi Ya'll, we're back from Texas and man was it the best time. We didn't want to come back. We drove a ton without air conditioning in our van, in the Hot Texas sun, but no worries, it's worth it. I'd trade that for 6 feet a snow, in October, anyday! Here is the scoop on all that's happened these last two weeks. First, we hustled our butts down to Kerrville Folk Festival and arrived on the 5th of June. We got changed and Michelle played Djembe and did harmonies on Main Stage with Jim Bizer ( along with Jan Krist and Freebo) and sang one song with Sara Hickman, right long side of Kristin DeWitt. It was the way to start off the next WONDERFUL 2 weeks. Then on the 7th, we headed up to Standard and Pours Coffee house and did songwriter in the round with Beth Wood, Playing and singing on each other's tunes. It's funny, My Mom's maiden name is Wood and after playing together, we all decided to take it on the road "later", as a trio and call it " In The Woods". Guess who is in the woods? Poor Scott. It's a dream position for him. Then after that, we headed back south to Kerrville and Performed New Folk in the Round, on the 9th, with Anais Mitchell, Julie Clark, Dave Potts, and David Llewellyn. WOW. It just keeps getting better, read on. We were able to stay and take in the Kerrville campsites and the all night music jams where we met some of the most amazing people, and became instant friends with. People like Dona and Kelly from Still on the Hill, Crow Johnson, Darlene, ( yup, that's her name), Jack Williams. ( Oh my gosh, Jack Williams!) Ken Gaines, Ellen Bukstel, Jonathan Byrd, Karen Mal, The Dreamsicles, Freebo, and many many more. After a few days of that, we headed to Austin to perform Paul Barker's House concert Series, " Taste Of Kerrville, with Julie Clark and The Laws. How much more blessed can we be? Well, we were, we came back and hosted the ballad tree in a light drizzle that just quit, right before we started. The sun shined and we shared music and who shows up? Kevin Danzig. It was great to see old friends there... That night was the last night of Kerrville and the mood was rather meloncholy. Everyone knew it was time to head home, to real life and reality. No body wanted to though. But still, we had a great time at all the camps, Laura at Camp Crows nest made this Delicious Fire made pizza and a couple night ago, made apple pie. WOW. We got to hang with Jonathan Byrd there a little bit, and then we hung out again on the last night til 6 AM along with Karen Mal, ( we hung out alot ) and this little french girl who had the voice of 10 blues Women. Husky and Sexy all in one. Then she just walked away and left us with our mouths hanging down. Trevor Mills made and served fire roasted Zuccini and sang songs with us til dawn.. We got like 3 hours and of sleep and started packing up the camp. booohooo. We said our goodbyes to various camps and I got a beautiful Yellow, and pink Rose and huge hug from my friend, Cheryl Duckett, (Flowers in the Desert house concerts) , The scent from it was amazing!.I will cherish it forever. Heading further south to Corpus Christi, we got to perform a last minute show at Executive Surf Club ( you can buy our CD at Surf Club Records, right next door) The Featured act, ( Three folks in a Van ( Susan Gibson, Walt Wilkins, and Brandon Rhyder ) performed and did an amazing job. They asked me to get up and play my djembe behind them, and so I did.. and played almost their complete 2nd set. Amazing.... I felt so comfortable with these guys. Little did I know that I was performing behind this amazing sweet girl Susan Gibson, who wrote "That Dixie Chick's hit, Wide Open Spaces" OH MY GOSH! Then Walt Wilkins, who has written songs for Ty Herndon, Ricky Skaggs, Pam Tillis and so many more. How much better can this trip possibly get? Then the next day, bright and early at NOON, we played a live interview with "THE" Lito lll at Texas Radio, 94.7. We had loads of fun including the part where they gave our CD away to the 3rd Caller. We actually had a lot of calls on that..and got to meet the winner. WOW. The best part of Texas was, I got to see my Uncle Don and Aunt Carol, Aunt June, and my Cousins, David, Morika, Gary and Debbie. We finally left Corpus and headed north to Dallas, where we stayed with Dale Marsh. Got rested up so we can perform at Uncle Calvin's on Friday, Where we opened for the Laws (John and Michele) again and had plenty of feedback saying, " so when are you guys moving down here?" I couldn't count on all my fingers and toes how many people asked us that question. Scott use to be able to say, we aren't, but now he's not so sure. He's as addicted as I am. Anyway, After that concert, My friend, Deb, (www.handsofpeace.com) came in and gave me my first ever massage. I was unable to communicate after she was done. Well, my bottom lip barely moved during conversation, it just hung there like a limp noodle. Pretty. .LOL The hands of a goddess! I love this girl! After that, it was our last night in Texas, we have one last concert opening for THE RUTHIE FOSTER. at Jefferson Freedom Cafe. Robert Scarborough, ( the Jefferson Man!) took us around Kerrville and made us feel at home everywhere, including Jefferson Freedom. We performed our 40 minutes of songs which ended in a standing ovation... We were wowed to tears....Then it was Ruthie's turn and she wowed us again! This lady is THE best singer I've ever heard... plus she plays a MEAN guitar!. but the funnest part was when Ruthie asked me to play djembe behind her. I got to play like 6 songs and oh my gosh, it was Heavenly! I felt as if I've played with her before, weird, nerve racking, but comfortable. I even threw in 3rd harmonies when needed. After the show, she asked, "Do you have your passport?" What does THAT mean? I'm still waiting for that answer. I told her I never had a reason to but she can give me one. LOL. Anway, I'm coming down off cloud 465 which is way above # 9 but hard to find. So there is our trip in a nutshell.... and now i'm working my buttewy off to have more experiences like these. It's an addictive high.... Sorry for any mispelled words or typos... but you know, I'm just a folk musician on a touring high.
